The Artist
My Story
My name is Travonne Saltus, and I’m an artist from Bermuda. Art has always been a part of my life, but it became my lifeline during one of the hardest times I’ve ever faced. I lost my father at a young age, and for a while, I struggled to find direction. Life took an even darker turn when I was falsely accused of a crime I didn’t commit. I spent time behind bars, fighting for my freedom and trying to hold onto hope.
During that time, I turned to art as my escape. It gave me a way to express everything I was feeling—my pain, my frustration, but also my hope and determination. It kept me going, even when things felt impossible.

Since then, I’ve been blessed to share my work with others. I create portraits of historical figures and celebrities, commissioned pieces for families and loved ones, and Bermudian-inspired works where I let my imagination take over. Each piece I create is personal and tells a story—whether it’s mine or someone else’s.
I don’t take my freedom or my art for granted. I’ve been through a lot, but I know that those experiences shaped who I am today. My goal is to create work that speaks to people and reminds them that no matter what they’re going through, there’s always a way forward.
